Terms of Use
Effective October 23, 2026
By using The Gentry, you agree to these terms.
What The Gentry is
The Gentry is a tool that helps hosts share a waiver with invited guests, record guests' signatures, and confirm arrivals. It is a convenience and a record-keeping service.
What The Gentry is not
The Gentry is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or insurance. We do not guarantee that any waiver, including our standard waiver, will be enforceable in your state or will protect any host from liability. Laws about waivers and about serving alcohol differ by state, and some responsibilities cannot be waived at all. Hosts should consult an attorney and their insurance provider.
Your account
- You must be at least 21 years old.
- You must provide your real legal name.
- You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your email secure.
Hosts
- Invite only people who expect to hear from you, and only to events you are actually hosting.
- You are solely responsible for your event, your premises, and your guests, including compliance with laws on alcohol and minors.
- You are responsible for the content of any waiver you choose and for how you use signed waivers.
Guests
- Read any waiver fully before signing. Signing in The Gentry is a legally binding electronic signature.
- Do not sign on behalf of anyone else.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service. That includes impersonating others, attempting to forge or alter a signature or check-in, accessing data that isn't yours, or interfering with the app's operation.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Gentry is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for anything that happens at an event.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms and will note the effective date above. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
