Privacy Policy

Effective October 23, 2026

Draft — pending attorney review before public launch.

The Gentry ("we", "us") makes an app that lets hosts invite guests to private events, collect signed waivers, and confirm arrivals at the door. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

From everyone who uses the app:

From hosts:

From guests who sign a waiver:

At the door: each time you scan a host's code, we record the time, the event, and whether you were cleared (and if not, why).

We never ask for a photo of your ID, a selfie, or your date of birth. We use your camera only to scan door codes while the scanner is open, and we do not store camera images. We do not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers.

How we use it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see what

Service providers

We use Supabase to host our database and sign-in, and an email provider to deliver sign-in codes. These providers process data on our behalf and only to run the service.

Retention

Signed waivers are kept for as long as the host's account exists, because their value is as a lasting record. Other account data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and sign-in information. Waivers you signed for someone else's event remain part of that host's records unless the law requires otherwise.

Your choices

Children

The Gentry is for adults. You must be 21 or older to use it. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and stored with access rules that limit each person to their own records. Signed waivers cannot be edited or deleted through the app.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and let you know in the app.
